Great Memories of Sam's Visit and all of our great Family Time!

We had a certifiable blast with Samantha, Jennifer, David, Daniel, and Becky in Pismo Beach. We try each year to pick a fun spot sort of "in between" Vegas and Sacramento to return Samantha to Jennifer and McKenny. Unfortunately, McKenny had to miss this year due to work. Also, Jennifer would dispute the "in between" characterization as it was about 5 1/2 hours for us and about 7 1/2 hours for her. Oh well, we paid for the beach house. We were really happy and pleased with the beach house this year. It was about 1600 square feet, three bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The Master was really nice with a large two head shower and a really comfortable pedestal bed. The location was in Grover Beach and about 8 blocks from the beach. We had a nice view of the water from the deck and the house included a nice big deck on the first floor with a gas barbecue that was immaculate.

There are other pictures from the second week of Sam's stay with us and her time at church camp with Darla. We were able to make it to a baseball game with the company's season tickets behind home plate and we took her to see the new Spiderman movie. We were able to get the whole family together on the day she flew back from Dallas for a barbecue at the house and had a blast with all of her Uncles and her Aunt Becky. Alicia and Don couldn't make it as they had plans on their boat, but we had a great time in spite of their absence. Alicia and Luke made it over for a second visit on her second week.

We drove down on Friday to Pismo after church camp and met Jennifer, who had to drive by herself from Vegas. There was an overturned car on the freeway on her way out of Las Vegas on Interstate 15 that delayed her about an hour. She got there about 6:30 and we took she and Sam out to dinner at the Rock and Roll Diner in Arroyo Grande. It is an old dining car that has been repurposed as a restaurant. It was great.

The boys and Becky got a late start out of Sacramento and got in about 10:00 o'clock and stayed at a hotel in their old college town of San Luis Obispo. They met us for breakfast at the house the next morning and then we headed off to Pismo Beach. The town was PACKED and we finally decided to head back to Grover Beach and drive out on the beach and play volleyball, play in the water and have lunch. We then headed back to the house and had a nice barbecued steak dinner with asparagus and baked potatoes. We took our requisite pictures on the patio and then visited into the wee hours, playing 20 questions and really enjoying each other's company.

The boys had to leave the next morning for golf in Monterey and Becky dropped them and then headed back to Roseville. I took the girls into Pismo Beach to shop and for lunch. You can see the picture of Darla and Sam that looks like it was taken under the pier. That is actually at a seafood restaurant and is a mural on the wall. You can see some of the purchases in the picture of Sam and Darla with their almost matching shirts. We actually Ubered into town to miss the traffic and Ubered back to the beach house, We did drive in that night to get pictures at the pier at sunset. It was awesome.

I am suffering right now as I had oral surgery on Friday. I have root resorption on two of my lower front teeth because of braces I my youth and had them removed and will have two permanent implants put in in about six months. I had the posts installed and have swelling and pain now as the gums are sutured back together. The stayplate that was fashioned doesn't fit so I have to go to my dentist on Monday to have it fitted properly. In the meantime I look like a hockey player with a gap in my lower front teeth.

Darla is back from a visit to the park with Sam, so I will sign off for now. As promised, this is turning into a photo blog, but that is okay. It tells the story of our life. Be well. Ciao.
